For those venturing to the high-mountainous region of Ajara, specifically the Shuakhevi municipality, don't miss the opportunity to visit the centuries-old Khabelashvili Bridge. Located in the village of Khabelashvili, this impressive structure was built three hundred years ago using boxwood and chestnut materials. The bridge's main supporting piers resemble those found in traditional arched bridges and are constructed with expertly worked stones set in a lime solution.

Serving as a vital connection between two villages, the bridge spans a picturesque river. Originally designed for both pedestrian and horse-drawn cart traffic, the bridge now caters exclusively to pedestrians. After undergoing rehabilitation in 2015 with the help of locals and specialists, the bridge remains an important historical site.

In 2013, the National Agency for Cultural Heritage and Monument Protection recognized the Khabelashvili Bridge as a cultural heritage site, celebrating its unique and rare features, construction elements, and authenticity, making it a must-see attraction in Western Georgia.
