VAT and Tax-Free
Return of value-added tax, also known as Tax-Free, refers to the return of the "VAT" amount paid by citizens of foreign countries on goods purchased in Georgia.
A citizen of a foreign country can claim back the VAT on the goods purchased by him before he crosses the economic border of Georgia. The goods must be purchased from a store authorized to issue a special Tax-Free refund receipt.
If you want to use the Tax Free service, please note:

You must be a citizen of a foreign country to be entitled to request a refund of the VAT paid;

VAT refund can be requested for goods and not for services;

The goods must be purchased from a store that has the right to issue a special Tax-Free refund receipt and the delivery of the goods must be subject to VAT;

The purchase price must exceed 200 GEL excluding VAT according to one receipt;

Purchased goods must be intended for export;

Goods must be removed no later than three months after purchase;

You must have a special Tax-Free refund receipt;

The goods shown in the special Tax-Free refund receipt must be fully exported from the territory of Georgia;

Goods must be placed in a special sealed bag, except for identifiable goods. It is necessary to maintain the integrity of the seal;
