Cycling tourism in Ajara is one of the best ways to enjoy active recreation, discover nature, and create new experiences. The region’s diverse routes allow every visitor to choose a cycling adventure that matches their interests and level of experience.
Ajara is distinguished by its diverse landscapes, bringing together coastal trails, forested valleys, highland villages, and alpine zones within a single region. This makes cycling here a truly unique experience. The routes are designed for both beginners and experienced cyclists, offering an excellent opportunity to explore the region’s natural and cultural diversity.
One of the most popular places for cycling in Batumi is Batumi Boulevard, where a 7-kilometer cycling path runs along the coastline. This route is ideal for family rides as well as for exploring the city’s main attractions. Cyclists can visit the boulevard’s famous landmarks, seaside parks, squares, and modern architectural sites, including the renowned moving sculpture “Ali and Nino.” Bicycles can be rented both along the boulevard and through Batumi’s public bicycle-sharing system, BatumVelo.
Beyond the city limits, cycling routes take travelers through Ajara’s stunning natural landscapes. The trails pass through river valleys, forested slopes, waterfalls, historic bridges, and mountain villages. Along the way, visitors can discover local culture, taste traditional cuisine, and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. Among the most popular marked cycling routes are the Batumi-Mirveti Cycling Trail and the Goderdzi Pass Circular Cycling Route in mountainous Ajara.
