Gulebi Fortress
Gulebi Fortress
Another captivating site in Keda municipality is Gulebi Fortress, located within the village of Gulebi. Like other fortresses in the area, this castle is a popular attraction for tourists visiting Keda.
Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, Gulebi Fortress’ strategic location allowed it to effectively serve its purpose. Perched atop a hill, it offers expansive views of the surrounding landscape. Originally covering an area of 70-80 square meters, only a small portion of the castle remains today.
Similar to most castles, Guleb Fortress can be accessed from only one side – the west. A narrow, rocky path leads up to the castle, making it difficult to approach and providing a natural defense. In the western part of the castle, visitors can admire three intricately carved cannons.
