Ajara Khariton Akhvlediani Museum
Situated in Batumi, the Khariton Akhvlediani Museum of Ajara was established in 1908 through the efforts of a group of teachers and Batumi's public figures. The museum flourished under the direction of scientist and public figure Khariton Akhvlediani, who took over from its first director, Nikoloz Gomon.
Home to an impressive collection of over 180,000 exhibits, the museum's manuscript collection includes more than 2,000 rare manuscripts in Georgian, Armenian, Arabic, Turkish, Persian, and numerous other languages. Visitors to the museum can marvel at the diversity of artifacts that have been carefully preserved and displayed.
