Pridon Khalvashi Ethnographic Museum

Nestled in the village of Gegelidze in the Kedi municipality, the Fridon Khalvashi House-Museum pays tribute to the renowned public figure, writer, and poet. Born in 1925 and later passing away in Keda in 2010, Fridon Khalvashi was a distinguished recipient of the Shota Rustaveli Prize and served as the chairman of the Ajara organization of the Writers' Union of Georgia.

Housed in his former residence, the museum dedicated to Khalvashi's life and work opened its doors in 2012 and has been welcoming visitors ever since. Here, you'll find an array of the writer's personal belongings, manuscripts, photographs, documents, and more. An added attraction is Khalvashi's personal library, which remains intact and can be explored during your visit to the museum.
