Green Lake
Green Lake is located in the highlands of Ajara, in Khulo Municipality, on the northern slopes of the Arsiani Range, near the Goderdzi Pass, at an altitude of 2,058 metres above sea level. The lake is distinguished by its clean, crystal-clear, and lightly mineralised water. Its name comes from the characteristic green colour of the water, which appears especially vivid during the day, while in the evening and with changing weather conditions, the lake takes on different shades.
The route to Green Lake begins at the Goderdzi Pass and passes through alpine meadows and forest trails. The lake can be reached either by a four-wheel-drive vehicle or via a hiking trail. The surrounding area is suitable for hiking, picnicking, camping, and overnight stays in tents. Visitors can also enjoy boating on the lake, while the surrounding alpine landscapes and pristine mountain environment make Green Lake one of Ajara's most distinctive ecotourism destinations.
