Makho Antient Arched Bridge

The arched bridges in Khelvachauri municipality stand as historical and cultural monuments, representing significant landmarks for the municipality, Ajara, and Georgia as a whole.

Each bridge is unique in its size, shape, and construction. A prime example is the Makho Bridge, situated in Makho village of Khelvachauri municipality, just 150 meters from the confluence of the Makhostskali and Chorokhi rivers.

The bridge's height reaches 2.20 meters from the water level to its midpoint. Both sides of the bridge are anchored on bedrock, with well-paved banks and vertically stacked stones lining its entire length. The bridge's pathway is adorned with stone slabs.

On November 7, 2007, the Makho Bridge was selected as an immovable cultural monument of national significance.
