Summer Festivals

The warm summer days in Batumi are characterized by an influx of tourists, vibrant colors, and cultural and entertainment festivals. The Black Sea Jazz Festival is a particular highlight, delighting music enthusiasts. This July festival combines sun, sea, and fantastic music performances by Georgian and international musicians. Over the years, Batumi has hosted notable artists like Marcus Miller, Tanya Maria, Maseo Parker, Roy Hargrove, Macy Gray, Stanley Jordan, Larry Graham, John Scofield, El Jero, Mike Stand, Victor Wooten, Snoop Dogg, Liv Warfield, Lisa Stansfield, Quincy Jones, and Jamiroquai. The Batumi Jazz Festival has a 15-year history and offers a wide variety of music genres alongside jazz.

The Summer Festival takes place annually, signifying the beginning of the sea season for both locals and vacationers in Batumi and the broader Ajara region. The entire seafront area gets adorned with colorful and summer-appropriate decorations. Various performers keep the festival attendees entertained from morning till late at night on a specially arranged stage. There are also activities and competitions in various games, such as table tennis and sand volleyball.

The Honey Festival also takes place in Batumi. Beekeeping in Ajara has a centuries-old history, marked by unique traditions. Today, Ajara is one of the leading regions in Georgia for honey production. Local honey is renowned for its distinctive taste as it's harvested from the ecologically clean and diverse environment of the Ajara region. The festival, which has been held in Batumi since 2015, aims to preserve and promote this culture. It provides visitors an opportunity to learn about the unique traditions and history of honey production in Ajara.
