For those seeking a blend of sporty adventures and sightseeing opportunities, the Machakhela Gun Road is a fantastic tourist route to explore.

Starting from Batumi, this route follows the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe highway and leads to the village of Ajaristskali, eventually reaching the confluence of the Chorokhi and Machakhlistskali rivers. Along the road and in the surrounding areas, you'll discover Machakhela guns and family daggers in the valley, as well as an abundance of cultural-historical monuments, waterfalls, and national parks.

The Machakhela journey offers a chance to visit the Machakhela Gun monument, Gvara Fortress, a World War II cannon, Tskhemlara arched bridge, and the Upper Chkhutuneti historical-ethnographic museum.

In the valley, be sure to visit Machakhela National Park, situated 300-350 meters above sea level. You can stay in local hotels and indulge in traditional dishes for a truly authentic experience.
