Nurigeli Lake is one of Batumi's most popular recreational areas. This natural lake is located within Batumi Central Park (6 May Park), whose construction began approximately 130 years ago, making it one of the city's oldest parks. Situated 0.2 metres above sea level, the lake has a depth of 8 metres and is primarily fed by underground springs. Nurigeli Lake is rich in fish, including grey mullet, common carp, bighead carp, and several other species. The lake is also associated with numerous local legends and historical events. In 1947, the first passenger boat, "Pioneri," was launched on the lake, followed by the boat "Aisi" in 1988.

Visitors can explore the lake by boat or pedal boat. The surrounding Batumi Central Park, covering 165,000 square metres, features walking paths, children's playgrounds, cafés, and recreational areas. Batumi Dolphinarium and the Aquarium are also located within the park, just a short walk from the lake. The park's main entrance is distinguished by its historic Greek-style colonnades.
