Batumi is a city brimming with sights and experiences waiting to be explored. Here are the top 10 must-see attractions during your visit:
Alphabet Tower
Situated in Batumi's Wonder Park, this peculiar and symbolic attraction celebrates the Georgian alphabet, considered one of the oldest and most beautiful scripts still in use today. The iconic five-story tower, designed to resemble DNA, stands at 130 meters tall and showcases all 33 Georgian letters. Rotating 360 degrees every hour, the tower houses an information center, restaurant, and observation deck.
“Ali and Nino” statue
This monumental, kinetic sculpture, positioned along Batumi's coastline, narrates the heartbreaking tale of lovers Ali and Nino, as first described in the 1937 Austrian novel of the same name. Ali, an Azerbaijani Muslim, falls for a Georgian Christian princess, Nino, only for tragedy to strike when Ali is killed in a global conflict. Inspired by this story, Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze crafted the moving "Ali and Nino" sculpture in 2010. The impressive metallic artwork features two somewhat translucent figures that, every 10 minutes, revolve in a circular motion, approaching each other and ultimately merging.

Batumi's Europe Square symbolizes the Georgian people's aspiration to align with European countries and Western values. The square seamlessly combines the city's distant and recent past through its attractions. At its center stands the Medea statue, depicting Medea, daughter of Colchis King Aeëtes. The statue narrates the tale of the famous "Argonauts' Myth," wherein Medea falls in love with Argonaut hero Jason and helps him obtain the "Golden Fleece." According to legend, they steal the Golden Fleece together on the renowned ship "Argo." The Golden Fleece has since become a symbol of Georgia's prosperity and glory. Europe Square is also home to restaurants, shops, hotels, and a dancing fountain.
